Right to Know
The Right-to-Know law is Pennsylvania’s open records law. It requires government agencies in the Commonwealth to provide access to and copies of public records. District Policy 801 and attachments below outline the process for individuals to make a formal right-to-know request for the Columbia Borough School District.
All requests to Columbia Borough School District under the Right-to-Know Law must be submitted in writing to the district’s Right-To-Know officer. The requester must complete the Right to Know Form below.
Once a request is received, the district has five (5) business days to respond to the request.
Individuals may challenge denials of any request by filing an appeal within fifteen (15) business days of receipt of a determination from the school district. A written appeal must be mailed or delivered to the attention of the Executive Director, Office of Open Records, 333 Market Street, 16th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17101-2234.
